1 Corinthians 15:10
“But by the grace of God I am what I am, and his grace to me was not without effect. No, I worked harder than all of them—yet not I, but the grace of God that was with me.”
1 Corinthians 15:10 serves as a profound reminder that our value does not stem from our own efforts. We are free in Christ; allow Him to shape, transform, and mould you into the person He has destined you to be. It’s easy to look at others and wonder, “Why can’t I work as hard as they do?” or “Why am I not as smart as them?” and “Why haven’t I achieved as much as they have? If only I could be a little better, maybe I could achieve that.” However, God has created you for a specific purpose, and He has anointed you for it.
We must remember to maintain a heart posture that is ready to submit to God’s plan for us. When Moses agreed to lead the Israelites, he responded with “Hineni.” When Abraham was asked to sacrifice Isaac, he also said “Hineni.” Similarly, when Isaiah was prepared to accept God’s calling, he responded with “Hineni.” This Hebrew word translates to “Here I am.” At the moment of their calling, these individuals did not feel capable of fulfilling the task. However it was their faith in Our Heavenly Father that empowered them to answer the call boldly and say “Here I am.” This should encourage us to stop looking at others but focus on God, by “seeking the kingdom and his righteousness” in our daily lives.
In today’s world, it is crucial to remember our calling and allow ourselves to be changed through God’s grace. Stop comparing yourself to peers, colleagues, or influencers on social media; instead, focus on the divine plan that God has created for your life. As said in Ephesians 4:1: “He chose us in him before the creation of the world to be holy and blameless in his sight.” Embrace God’s free gift of salvation and grace, and strive to live an abundant life and take the leap of faith and say “Hineni.”
May God bless you.
